Remote Legal Typist / Legal Transcriptionist — Law Firm Experience Required
SpeakWrite is seeking experienced legal typists and legal transcriptionists to join our remote transcription team.
This opportunity is for candidates with real legal experience — not general typing applicants. Ideal candidates have worked in a law firm, legal department, court reporting environment, or legal transcription setting and are comfortable producing accurate legal documents from attorney dictation.
SpeakWrite provides transcription services to law firms, law enforcement agencies, protective services organizations, investigators, and other professionals across the country. Our typists help professionals turn dictated audio into accurate, polished documents that support important work every day.
What You’ll Do
As a SpeakWrite Legal Typist, you will transcribe dictated legal audio into clear, accurate, properly formatted documents. Work may include legal correspondence, pleadings, memos, case notes, reports, discovery-related documents, and other attorney or legal professional dictation.
This is remote, flexible work for experienced legal typists who take accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism seriously.
Minimum Requirements
Please apply only if you meet the following requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience working in a law firm, legal department, or legal transcription environment
- Ability to type at least 60 words per minute
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and legal document formatting
- Prior experience with transcription, dictation, or legal document production
- Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading skills
- Strong Microsoft Word skills
- Ability to follow detailed formatting and quality guidelines
- Professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently from home
